What is Renters insurance?
Renter Insurance (HO-4 Contents-Only) is a form of Homeowners Insurance that covers personal property against the same perils as the contents portion of a HO-2 or HO-3 policy. A Renters Insurance policy generally also includes liability coverage for personal injury or property damage inflicted on others.
This policy is primarily designed for the non-homeowner occupant.
A landlord or building owner’s property insurance policy will never cover a tenants’ property; including situations where an adult child, parent or an unmarried partner is living with a homeowner.
Coverage includes:
Personal Property (Coverage C)
Loss of Use (Coverage D)
Personal Liability (Coverage E)
Medical Payments to others (Coverage F)
You can learn more about coverage types on our Homeowners Insurance information page.
